Apprenticeship Program for Local 150 Operating Engineers
The Apprenticeship Office for Local 150 Operating Engineers is opening applications for the trades of
Heavy Equipment Repair Technician.
An application can be requested in person at one of our 9 offices during the scheduled dates and times listed below.
A $25 application fee per program will be required at the time of request in the form of a money order only, made payable to “Local 150 Apprenticeship Fund”.
Please note: applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.
The address on your driver’s license MUST MATCH the address on your application.
Minimum Qualifications for the program are as follows:
At least 18 years of age Must have graduated high school or obtained a GED.
The applicant will provide a high school transcript for evaluation purposes.
Be a resident of the jurisdictional area of Local 150.
A valid driver’s license and the maintenance of such are required at the time of selection.
A statement from a licensed physician stating physical ability to perform the work of the trades will be required 30 days after being accepted into the program.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

About this company
Local 150's training center is situated on 300-plus acres in Wilmington, IL. The center boasts 342,000 square feet of space housing an indoor training area, almost 200 pieces of heavy equipment, 30 classrooms, construction material testing lab, state of the art welding facility, equipment simulator lab, a 200-seat auditorium, and much more. Instructors are available to members six days a week, Monday through Saturday, except holidays.
Local 150 offers four apprenticeship programs: Heavy Equipment Operator, Heavy Equipment Repair Technician, Geothermal/Well Driller, and Construction Material Inspector (Field Inspector). We are currently only accepting applications for Heavy Equipment Repair Technicians. To obtain an application, please go to any one of our District Halls with your valid driver’s license and a $25 money order to fill out a request for an application packet.
